Entry Fee & Starting Times:

  • Bronkie Bull - 155km - R220 - 05h00 (4 fully stocked PVM wp)
  • The Cow - 80km - R220 - 05h05 (2 fully stocked PVM wp)

Your entry includes:

  • Fully stocked PVM waterpoints - water, coke, jelly babies, bananas, potatoes, chips, PVM energy drink, gels and bars
  • A lekker Hamburger from Jack's Burgers at the Cowhouse Market

Compulsory gear:

  • Lights and rear reflectors until sunrise - always be visible.
  • Enough food and drink to last you for at least 60km
  • Money for emergency stops at garages/shops, and beer afterwards at the Cowhouse
  • Warm kit/Protection against wind and rain
  • GPS device with GPX file (it will be provided 2 days prior to the event) [GPX file loaded before event]
  • Spares, tubes and repair kits
  • Enough nutritional foods and drinks to last you for the entire ride, there will be waterpoints with basics like jelly babies, coke, water and PVM energy drinks, bars and gels, however do not just rely on the waterpoints.
  • Medical kit and medical aid details in a waterproof bag

Please note that the route will not be marked, some sort of GPS device loaded with GPX file is a MUST.

 

 

Route details:

Bronkies Bull 155km - 1300m elevation

Riders to head out towards the first climb of the day over Leeukop heading towards Graham road, travelling next to the tar along the M6 ( Lynnwood)  and turn right into Swavelpoort heading to the infamous WTF hill, this section has a short section on the tar with small climbs to warm the legs up for WTF, from there you will head towards Tierpoort garage, from here you will be riding district roads in Bashewa towards Witpoort. First Waterpoint for both distances at 35km at Witpoort.

After the Waterpoint riders will turn left and route split will come up where the Bronkie Bull’s will turn right heading to Bronkhorstpruit, 2nd Waterpoint will be on 75km just before you head into  Bronkies, 3rd Waterpoint will be at 110 km outside Bronkies. You will from here head towards Kleinzonderhout towards the railway line, you will cross the R515 into a small single track that will lead up to the Railway line which you have to cross, you will need to pick your bike up and carry over, watch out for oncoming trains!

From here you will follow the railway line, at the 1st bridge going over Boschkop 4th Waterpoint at 134km will await you,  continue along the railway line to the  4th bridge where you turn right and follow the road, then a short left until you get a T-junction where you turn left again, this road will take you all the way down to the main road passing Rosemaryhill, from Rosemaryhill its 6km to the finish!

 

The Cow 80km - 730m elevation

Riders to head out towards the first climb of the day over Leeukop heading towards Graham road, travelling next to the tar along the M6 ( Lynnwood)  and turn right into Swavelpoort heading to the infamous WTF hill, this section has a short section on the tar with small climbs to warm the legs up for WTF, from there you will head towards Tierpoort garage, from here you will be riding district roads in Bashewa towards Witpoort. After waterpoint you will get a T-junction where you will turn left, at a stage the 155km riders will turn right, DO NOT follow them, you will keep straight and follow the road till the next T-junction where you turn left towards Kleinzonderhout, towards the railway line. You will cross the R515 into a small single track that will lead up to the Railway line which you have to cross, you will need to pick your bike up and carry over, watch out for oncoming trains!

From here you will follow the railway line, at the 1st bridge going over Boschkop, here   your 2nd Waterpoint at 60km await you,  continue along the railway line to the  4th bridge where you turn right and follow the road, then a short left until you get a T-junction where you turn left again, this road will take you all the way down to the main road passing Rosemaryhill, from Rosemaryhill its 6km to the finish!

Additional Information:

Note: this is not a race but you will receive boards,  or you may use your personalised Bouttime raceboard to be timed to earn your Vitality points.     

You may request your time at the finish if you curious about how you did, but timing is not official and will not go on the NTS (National Trail Seeding) system.
